This is what I have recently started working on. I am painting this for some one rather special. It is my interpretation of him and how I see him. He is a very talented musician and plays the guitar and more recently has been learning to play the piano. Loves the night sky and this is just the starting point there are more details to add yet.

It has been a while since I did a portrait and this little girl has a face that begged to be painting.
I had a lot of fun painting this and decided to soften the background and try and keep the image as soft as possible.

THIS IS THE LATEST PAINTING I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON. I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH IT AS MOST OF MY ART COMES FROM MY FEELINGS AND HOW I DEAL WITH THEM.  AS YOU CAN PROBABLY TELL BY THE TITLE LIFE HAS HAD A FEW ROUGH EDGES LATELY. I FIND THAT PAINTING HELPS ME DEAL WITH ISSUES AND ONCE I COMPLETE THIS ONE I WILL BE HAPPY TO CLOSE THE DOOR ON THE PAST. ITS BEEN A VERY LONG AND WINDING ROAD WITH SOME SERIOUS POT HOLES.

After Dark  (Auckland City)

My daughter took the original image that inspired this artwork. My love of my girls is my greatest achievement in this life. I took parts of the image and turned it into a work of art that depicts life after dark. We all have that urge to experience life as an adventure and looking at Auckland after dark you can feel the energy and the excitement of the place. Doesn’t matter what others think to me cities are not my favourite place but they do have their uses and most of all they a full to overflowing with different energy and emotions so just like us as people you never know how you will feel till you are involved in the aspects of it. At night time you have to chance to either reflect or join in that energy. Awarded Special Recognition in a recent competition.

This is the third award I have received for my art now. I would like to achieve more we will see how things go.
