I was asked to create a painting for a friend of this man I can be honest and say I know little about this man except now I know his face details down to small scars even small freckles and his Tamoko on his shoulder. He plays basketball for OKC and the team is Thunder he plays number 12 and is known as a defender. The one thing that made this more interesting is the fact that he originally was from my home country New Zealand we are pretty proud of our little country and just recently it has become an issue that New Zealand is actually missing of a few world maps go figure. None the less it is an interesting journey into learning new things and facts plus pushing my skills forward I am learning to create colored portraits with acrylic and a gel medium that allows me to mimic an oil paint and blend and shade it. I have quite a way to go to finish this yet but I am enjoying the process very much.
