To Wish Upon Star

To Wish Upon A Star.

In between doing some photography I have also been working away at this slowly. I think I may have reached burn out mode with the painting till I finally started adding the details and more color to this one at the beginning of the week. It started out as an Idea and evolved into this. Its a very large painting and measures 4ft across by 3ft down. I am not mad keen on the colors but they are growing on me. The first three layers involved base cost of Black but its a purple black then the next two layers involve a scrubbing brush a knife and 5 different colored metallic paints/ A lot of trail and error and plenty of paint on my face and clothes. But I am getting there and the cloud formation over the super nova has given me plenty of headaches trying to layer them up and away from one another.  Final details and reflections and shadows to add

Photos yes there are more

Photos

I walk the dog three time a day and generally to the camera with me you never know what you will see. The mail box is 2kms from the house so its quite a hike. This does not include the bush and surrounding area which is native and full to overflowing with trees, ferns and pathways. So even though I rarely leave the place I do see a lot of interesting things

Morning Walks with the Dog and Camera

Morning Walks with the Dog and Camera.

I spend a lot of time outdoors these days walking a six month old puppy/dog can't actually say he is a puppy anymore as he is a very large pup only half grown and still growing but so full of energy the day starts at 7.30 with the expectation of the first of three walks during the day. I will admit that I am now walking approximately 6 to 8 kms a day thanks to the dog.

Photos of them weeds and more.

Photos of Weeds and More.

I think as an artist perhaps we see things differently to others or maybe its just me. Every where I go I walk and I look at things with a lens and see the potential these days to find beauty in the simpliest of things in particular weeds and spiders webs and dew drops and anything that Mother Nature creates. We miss so much in our busy lives when we fail to look so I have been looking hard and this is some of what I see.
