     IGBO Aqua Man

 This is my latest piece in my Dreams and Desires series. I am working on a series of paintings that depict our thoughts our dreams our desires and also include our cultural heritage and in some cases our religious beliefs. I have spent the last few years chatting with people from around the world and this is how this series started. We are all the same regardless of color country and religious thoughts.

None of us have the right to judge others nor should we but this series started by accident with the thoughts of one Man and it escalated from there. No 4 is now in the works and I have had a few debates with people about how I add certain images to these paintings but to the person that has kindly agreed to be part of this series they mean a lit. They are about there personal thoughts and beliefs yet the resounding answers are very much the same. They all want a small piece of happiness and to have there dreams and desires becomes a reality. So on that note I am hoping that people will discuss this stop labeling others and start talking with all the people in the world and finding out what they think and stop assuming. This painting is IGBO Aqua Man aka Barnabas Maduagwu. He Lives in Nigeria and is the second in the series from that region to have been a subject of my painting.

I have had some amazing feed back and only one negative comment for which even though I understood where he was coming from the lions head is a tribal symbol for this young man. The catfish is what he does for a living. He loves what he does and he is proud of his cultural heritage so on that note any comments you wish to leave please feel free to do so.
